April 30th - Venus Enters Aries

Venus is back in Aries on April 30th, its sign of detriment, meaning things are about to get a whole lot more uncomfortable.

This is the second chapter of a larger cycle that began back in early February. Venus first entered Aries from Feb 4th to March 27th, triggering impulsive connections and the need for independence. But then Venus went retrograde on March 1st, beginning a descent into the underworld of relationships, harmony, and connection.

After retracing her steps back into Pisces – where she stationed direct on April 12th tightly conjunct Saturn + Neptune – Venus now returns to Aries. What we once rushed toward, we now approach with a heavier awareness. We’ve seen the shadows of our cravings. We've tasted the consequences of desired longing. Now we re-enter Aries to clean it all up and see it from a different angle.

In traditional terms, Venus governs receptivity, harmony, and relational cohesion. Aries, ruled by Mars, is brash, instinctual, and focused on self-definition. When Venus enters Aries, these values clash. There’s unfiltered desire.

This is Aphrodite as the warrior goddess. She is not passive, yielding, or ornamental. She fights for love. She risks rejection for the sake of passion. She burns through shame to reclaim autonomy in her longing. Venus in Aries brings back the erotic self from the dead parts of us that have made desire conditional, careful, or compliant.

This transit shows us what we project onto others in order to validate who we are. The pull toward connection may feel heightened, but it’s not rooted in harmony; it’s often about reflection. We seek partners, attention, or validation as mirrors for our independence, our boldness, our right to want without apology.

But this can also be a dangerous edge.

We may find ourselves pulled into hot-cold dynamics. One person pursues, the other retreats. Passion spills into volatility. Venus in Aries craves space and intensity at once. That contradiction is a mirror to our own inner split, where unhealed relational wounds are still playing out as performance, defense, or withdrawal.

Unconscious Venus in Aries is reactive. She texts first, then ghosts. She clings to independence while secretly begging to be seen. She plays strong, but fears softness. But after the retrograde journey through Pisces where we were submerged in illusions, martyrdom, and spiritual longing, we’re not returning to Aries naïvely. We’ve been cracked open and drug through the underworld and into the deepest parts of our subconscious. Now we enter again, to clarify all that we’ve discovered.

The story began in early February, when Venus first entered Aries and impulsive desires flared. Then came the retrograde descent, beginning March 1st, pulling us back into Pisces, into fantasy, sacrifice, and spiritual longing. April 12th’s station direct, conjunct Saturn and Neptune, was a sobering return. We were forced to reconcile fantasy with reality, longing with limitation, softness with structure.

Expect relationships to feel more direct; but also more volatile. Passion can ignite easily. So can confrontation. This is not a time to repress your needs, but neither is it an excuse to bulldoze others. Assert what you want, but be honest about where your vulnerability hides behind anger or detachment.
