Full Moon in Scorpio (22°) - May 12th, 2025

On May 12th, the Full Moon perfects at 22° Scorpio.

This lunation confronts us with what’s been buried emotionally, psychologically, and relationally. Scorpio is ruled by Mars in traditional astrology, and under the Moon’s light, this Mars ruled sign strips away anything superficial to expose deeper emotional truths.

The Moon is in its fall in Scorpio so it’s not the most comfortable. Lunar energy typically seeks safety, familiarity, and containment. But Scorpio pushes for exposure. It reveals what has been repressed. This Full Moon will likely bring discomfort as it’s designed to create a break from emotional patterns that have calcified over time. These might be coping mechanisms, inherited emotional roles, or psychological contracts we didn’t realize we’re still carrying.

The Full Moon forms a tight opposition to Uranus in Taurus and a trine to the Pisces North Node, bringing themes of instability, disruption, and growth.

Scorpio’s core function is to transform through emotional intensity. It’s recognizing the patterns that no longer serve you and being willing to confront them. Scorpio is often misunderstood as a sign of power struggles or secrecy, but beneath that is a fundamental urge for authenticity. Not surface level emotional expression, but the kind that strips away performance and demands truth.

Uranus accelerates this process by removing anything built on pretense. You might see the cracks in a dynamic you’ve rationalized for too long. You might realize your values (Taurus) no longer align with your attachments (Scorpio). You might even feel detached from old emotional responses that once defined you because you’re no longer resonating with who you were when you created them.

Now is not the time to force change, but to recognize what has already changed, and choose to stop resisting it.

It doesn’t need to be dramatic or destructive. If something is unraveling now, it’s likely something you’ve already outgrown. The choice is whether to keep holding onto it out of fear, or let it go because you’re finally ready.

Moon in Scorpio opposite Uranus in Taurus

Uranus challenges structure and stability. In Taurus, its goal is to disrupt what we depend on but no longer benefit from. This opposition to the Moon can trigger emotional volatility or sudden shifts in how we process feelings and attachments.

This aspect may cause emotional reactions that seem disproportionate in the moment but are actually tied to long-standing dynamics. If you’ve been numbing, avoiding, or rationalizing your emotional discomfort, Uranus now pushes it to the surface. You may notice a sharp contrast between what feels stable (Taurus) and what feels emotionally authentic (Scorpio). The urge to detach from discomfort (Uranus) is strong, but Scorpio’s depth won’t let you bypass the emotional work.

This is a time when unconscious motivations become visible. That can manifest through unexpected conflicts, emotional distance in relationships, or a sudden desire to break ties with people, patterns, or environments that feel constricting. The psychological urge for autonomy becomes louder, especially if you’ve been suppressing your true feelings to maintain peace or routine.

Moon trine the Pisces North Node

This softens the rigidity of the Mars/Uranus tension. The trine to the Pisces North Node points us toward growth through release. Pisces, ruled by Jupiter in traditional astrology, is a mutable water sign that dissolves, unwinds, and lets go. In this context, the North Node reflects a collective pull toward acceptance and non-linear healing.

This is especially relevant if you’ve been holding on to shame, secrecy, or emotional hyper-vigilance. Scorpio often internalizes betrayal, abandonment, or perceived weakness. But when expressed unconsciously, this can lead to emotional defensiveness or a need to control how others perceive us. The North Node trine reminds us that growth comes through the willingness to let go; not just of people or situations, but of identities formed through survival.

This trine can bring a moment of clarity where you realize you’ve been staying somewhere emotionally out of habit, fear, or guilt. Pisces allows you to soften your grip. Scorpio provides the honesty required to see what’s still lingering.
