Mercury Enters Aries - April 16th, 2025

Mercury first dipped into Aries on March 3rd, finally escaping the fog of Pisces, a place where Mercury is considered both in its detriment and fall. But this wasn’t a clean break. Just days later, Mercury entered its retrograde pre-shadow on March 12th, officially turning retrograde on March 15th. By March 29th, it had slipped back into Pisces one last time, dragged into the undertow of Neptune's waters.

Now, on April 16th, Mercury returns to Aries for real. No turning back this time. No double dipping into emotional confusion. From here on out, it’s full steam ahead, or at least it will be once the post-shadow clears.

Key Dates to Note:

  • March 3rd: Mercury initially enters Aries

  • March 12th: Pre-retrograde shadow begins

  • March 15th: Mercury retrograde begins

  • March 29th: Mercury re-enters Pisces

  • April 16th: Mercury re-enters Aries (direct)

  • April 25th: Mercury leaves post-retrograde shadow

  • May 10th: Mercury enters Taurus

Mercury in Aries Transit

With Mercury back in Aries, the pace picks up. Fast thoughts. Quick words. Raw opinions. There's no sugar-coating here. Communication becomes more instinctive, blunt, and immediate. This is not the kind of Mercury that overthinks, second guesses, or spends time making things sound nice. It says what it means, and it means what it says.

You might find yourself (or notice others) interrupting people. Cutting through the fluff. Getting annoyed at anything that feels slow or inefficient; especially in conversations, planning, or decision-making. Mercury in Aries doesn’t wait for consensus. It acts. It speaks. It moves.

This can be liberating after weeks of mental murkiness, but also a bit reckless if you’re not grounded. It’s easy to jump the gun, say too much, or burn a bridge without realizing it until the flames are already halfway to the shore.

Mercury Conjunct Neptune in Aries

Even though Mercury is now direct and freshly re-entering Aries, it’s still not out of the woods. For the first week of this transit, it will be within orb of a conjunction to Neptune, which entered Aries on March 30th. This is important. Neptune colors everything it touches with illusion, confusion, fantasy, and sometimes outright deception, whether intentional or not.

You might feel ready to move forward, to make bold decisions, to start something new… but the energy still isn’t quite stable yet. The Neptunian influence means things are still unclear, especially around communication, contracts, information, and travel. Don’t rush the process just because you want clarity. Clarity will come, but only when Mercury fully separates from Neptune and clears its retrograde shadow after April 25th.

Until then, think of this as a transitional liminal space. Almost like waking up from a dream and needing a few moments to realize where you are and what’s real.

Mercury in Aries is reactive by nature. It hears something and fires back. It gets an idea and wants to execute immediately. But that doesn’t always lead to the best outcomes, especially with Neptune still in the mix. This is a time to pause (even if just briefly) before responding. Give yourself until at least April 25th to make any bold moves. By then, Mercury will be in clean Aries territory, post-retrograde, post-Neptune fog, and the green light will feel a whole lot greener.
