November 16th, 2024: Saturn Direct in Pisces
Saturn stationed direct on November 15th after being retrograde since July 1st, 2024, and during that time, it’s been like a slow review of all things related to discipline, responsibility, and boundaries. If you’ve felt stuck or like you’ve been second-guessing your long-term goals, that’s classic Saturn retrograde energy. But now, things are starting to shift forward again.
Saturn in Pisces has been teaching us some deep lessons, and these aren’t the kinds of lessons that come with instant rewards. Saturn requires patience and persistence. You’re not going to feel everything fall into place overnight. Saturn won’t even reach the degree it first went retrograde at (19° Pisces) until late April 2025. That means we’re still in the process of integrating what we’ve been reflecting on since July. This is a marathon, not a sprint. But the good news is, the next few months are a time to refocus, tighten up your priorities, and start moving forward with a clearer sense of purpose.
But what makes Saturn’s direct motion even more intense is that, as Saturn starts picking up speed, it’s going to form a t-square with Jupiter in Gemini and Mercury in Sagittarius throughout December. If you’re not familiar with a t-square, it’s a challenging configuration that brings tension, but also the potential for growth. Jupiter rules big ideas and curiosity, and Mercury is focused on truth and communication.
But Saturn is the focal point here, which means the energy is really centered on discipline and making things practical. It’s kinda like the friend who listens to your big dreams and then asks the tough questions: “What’s your plan? How will you stick to it?” This t-square is going to challenge us to take those big ideas and ground them in reality. Without Saturn’s structure, all those grand plans could just float away without any real progress.
So what does this mean for you?
First, take some time to reflect on the themes that have come up for you since July. Where have you been feeling stuck, uncertain, or overwhelmed? Saturn retrograde may have been pointing out areas where you need to set better boundaries or take more responsibility. Now is the time to put those lessons into practice. If you’ve been chasing dreams or working on big goals, this is also a moment to get real about what’s working and what’s not. Saturn rewards effort, but only if it’s focused and disciplined. Ask yourself if your actions are aligned with your long-term goals, or are you spreading yourself too thin? This direct motion is a chance to clarify your priorities and make adjustments where needed.
One thing to watch out for as we head into December is how this energy plays out in your relationships and communication. Mercury retrograde is a key player here, and with Saturn in the mix, it’s going to ask us to stay grounded in our conversations and decisions. Saturn is also notorious for reminding us that delayed gratification is part of the process. So if things feel slow or heavy, know that this is part of the work Saturn asks us to do.
Growth takes time, but it’s always worth it.
